PSLV C 41 paves way to India's own GPS in orbit

Indian Space Research Organisation ISRO launched its navigation satellite IRNS-1l from Satish Dhawan Space Center, Sriharikota today at 4.04 am Indian standard time.The satellite was put into orbit 19 minutes 19 seconds after the lift-off, as the replacement satellite for IRNSS- 1A in the second attempt.

The satellite IRNSS-1l has been placed geosynchronous orbit at a fixed location and will travel along the earth at a height of 36,000 kilometers.
