"Sama Scheme" to educate all Kudumbasree activists in Kerala who have not completed the 10th standard and higher secondary education. The project is spearheaded by the Literacy Mission. In each panchayat, municipality and corporation, 50 women learners can start each 10th level equivalent and higher secondary equivalent batches.
This will provide an opportunity for lakhs of women who have left school to continue schooling due to financial difficulties and other social and family circumstances. The 'Sama' project will be implemented in association with Kudumbasree, Literacy Mission and Local Governments. Course fee and examination fee will be provided by the local self government institutions only for 50 students who have not passed Class X and those who have not passed the Higher Secondary Examination.
The State Examinations Board conducts the General Examination and the issuance of the certificate in the 10th level equivalent course. This course is accredited by the PSC. The Higher Secondary Directorate conducts the General Examination and the Certificate Delivery of the Higher Secondary equivalent course. Those who pass both courses are eligible for further study. Eligible Kudumbasree members will be selected as Center Coordinators and Equivalent Teachers. Kudumbasree members aim to get higher education and better employment thereby enabling them to pursue higher education.
