Rs.304 crore Development Plan for Sabarimala

Kerala government has allocated Rs.304 crore for the  development of Sabarimala during, the coming Mandalam-Makaravilakku piligrimage season,out of which Rs.100 crore is the Indian government's contribution. This amount is being used for the routine work related to the piligrims who are expected to arrive soon.Devasom Board Minister Mr.Kadakampally Surendran made a categorical statement that pure and heigienic drinking water has to be provided to the devottees,Kudumbasree, a Women's group organisation under the Kerala govenment has to brought in to provide boiled water to the piligrims.Sanitation is another area where the authorities have been directed to enroll enough people to ensure  health problems caused due to unprecedented numbers coming to sabarimala in a short period of 3 months between November to mid-February.Rs.1.5 crore toilet complex at Sannidhanam is expected to be copleted by the next-season.The Health department would start a Help-desk for the piligrims,provide 24X7 ambulance service during the entire season.It is the earnest effort by the Kerala government to provide an ideal fecility for every piligrim who comes to Sabarimala but the demand is huge.
