Quickly shift to clean energy - says Pope

Time has come to quickly to shift to a clean energy since there is an adverse climate change due to global warming which can destroy humanity.

People require energy but that energy should not annihilate living beings inviting a catastrophe said Pope Francis in a two-day conference at the Vatican.

The conference had executives from oil companies, Pope wished them to realize their responsibility to the climate change, is a challenge of epochal proportions, the world needed an energy mix that combated pollution, eliminated poverty, promoted justice.

the challenges that are faced are interconnected, our desire to ensure energy to all must not lead to the undesired effect of a spiral of extreme climate changes due to a catastrophic rise in global temperature, harsher environments, increased levels of poverty, Pope concluded.

The effects of increased effects of high temperatures have been witnessed in the form of extreme heat in one part of the world, heavy rains and floods destroying the living needs for people to establish their habitat, untimely sub-zero temperatures which again brought untold misery to people. A tropical country like India too had higher temperatures which affected the human habitations.

Pope Francis has sent a reminder to the people who are consequential to the future of the mother earth and its people living now, save this earth for the next generation to live healthily.
