Lavalin Case haunts Pinarayi Vijayan- Supreme Court serves notice

Supreme Court sent a notice to Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister of Kerala against the appeal filed by CBI in the SNC-Lavalin Case. The two others have also been issued notices. Kerala High Court had upheld the CBI Court's acquittal of the three persons involved, Pinarayi Vijayan, K.Mohanachandran, former principal secretary(Power) and A Francic, Joint Secretary.

K.G Rajasekharan Nair, R.Sivadasan, and M.Kasturiranga Iyer, who was also accused would face the trial, the High court directed them to do so.The SNC-Lavalin Kerala hydroelectric financial scandal connected to infrastructure contract between the Indian government and Canadian company- SNC-Lavalin-in 1995, resulting in a loss to the exchequer, Rs.3,74,50,00,000 rupees. Pinarayi Vijayan was the electricity minister then.
