The Kerala State Housing Board (KSHB) will construct an international exhibition city at 3,105 crore rupees on 17.9 acres at Marine Drive to make it the “happening place” of Kochi. The eco-friendly green project will have an exhibition, hotel, tourism, event and function, and office zones for corporates, banks, and financial institutions.
The project will be executed in the public-private partnership (PPP) mode by creating a special purpose vehicle and the funds for construction will be mobilised, Minister for Revenue and Housing E. Chandrasekharan told the media here on Tuesday.
A cultural living museum and heritage village showcasing the traditional art forms, culture, heritage, and history of the State will be another attraction. The construction of the facility would cost the KSHB 1,605 crore rupees and the value of the prime land had been put at 1,500 crore rupees. The KSHB has secured ISO certification in quality management system and environment management system as part of achieving international quality standards.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will make the official declaration of the ISO certification and the international exhibition city here on June 20.
