Kerala ready to welcome Neelakurinji blooms

The Neelakurinji blooms are expected to arrive at the Western Ghats,by the end of july.The blooms occur at an interval of 10 years,and is blooming after 2006.The state government has started the preparations for receiving the tourists coming to experience the Neelakurinji blooms.

Isolated blooms has already been observed at some places prior to the mass flowering.The main locations massive flowering usually takes place are Eravikulam National Park(ENP),Lakkam and Vaguvarai top,under the Munnar Wildlife Sanctuary.

The visitors can apply for pass online and 70% of booking are done online.Around 4000 tickets for ENP will be issued per day and each tickets will be provided with a barcode to avoid intermediaries.The Forest Department will take visitors to the ENP, also the natural habitat of Nilgiri tahr, on its vehicles while guided trekking will be allowed to Lakkam mountains and Vaguvarai top.Bus service will be available to ENP and the timing for visit starts from 7:30 am to 4pm.
