A new method to detect Bacteria on food & water in a low price.

The Researchers of the University of Massachusetts Amherst invented a rapid and low-cost method to detect the bacteria in the food and water. They published it through the online issue "Food Microbiology" and the Royal Societies Chemistry Journal "Analytical Methods". Microbial Contamination was a major research topic for the scientists it has been a problem for a long time. And the researchers believe that the new method will be a great solace to the people all over the world who ate raw vegetables and fruits and will be helpful for the food safety of the nations.

Thiruvananthapuram: The ordinary thorny fruit "Jackfruit" made a revolution through the declaration of the official fruit of Kerala. ObamaCare Exchange Enrollment Shows Surprise Gain, Despite Trump's Attacks

 

Results from insurer Centene (CNC), by far the biggest player on the ObamaCare exchanges, reveal that paid national enrollment almost certainly increased in 2018 compared to a year ago, defying predictions that President Trump's actions would lead to a sizable drop.

 Centene said earnings call that it now has more than 1.6 million paid exchange customers, well above the 1.4 million-plus that the company indicated to investors on Jan. 8.

Modicare- soon, to cost Exchequer 12,000 crores

Modicare-  health insurance coverage to every family in India up to Rs.5 lakhs, announced before the election code is implemented.

National Health Protection Scheme also know as Modicare, is going to be launched on 15th August 2018 or October 2nd, 2018, covering 10-crore poor families in India, costing the government around Rs.12,000 crores. 

India fourth from the bottom globally in Environment Pollution Controll

EPI-Environmental Performance Index released the rankings at the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos on Tuesday, putting India on the 4th spot from the bottom at no.177 of 180, where countries failed in controlling Environmental Pollution. 

India went down to the 177th place from 141st in just two years.

EPI conducts several tests on steps taken to clean the polluted air, conservation of biodiversity and control of greenhouse gas emissions compiles the score, .prepares the list.

Age limit up from 21 to 23 to buy Liquor in Kerala

Kerala Government has raised the age limit to 23 years from 21 to buy liquor. Today's cabinet took this bold decision, which had LDF's concent earlier.

The government is bringing an ordinance to this effect in the next assembly session. Amendment has to brought in Kerala Abkari Act and Foreign liquor rule to implement the age limit.Selling liquor to persons below 23 years will be a crime, will be punished.

Kerala stands no.1 in the highest alcohol consumption with its budget revenue around 40,000 crores, of which 15,000 crores come from liquor sales.

UNEP-Declares Alappuzha, India's No.1 in biodegradable solid waste disposal

UNEP's report " solid approach to waste" where Alappuzha town known as Venice of East is chosen as number one town in cleaning the solid waste bio-degradable beating the pollution. Alappuzha went serious on addressing the problem of solid waste disposal by introducing decentralized waste management system. Till recently, Alappuzha roadsides and canals were filled with garbage stinking around, and mosquitoes took almost to the verge of losing the status of the tourist center, equally exposing the locals to diseases caused by musquitos and air pollution-related health problems.

Supreme Court says Liquor sale ban exemption applies nationwide

The Supreme Court on Monday found itself surprised by a doubt raised by the Madras High Court about the ban on the sale of liquor in December 2016 within 500 meters along national and State highways.

The bone of contention is a July 11 order of the apex court which clarified that stretches of highways running through municipal areas were exempted from the ban.

But what puzzled the Madras High Court is whether the exemption granted to municipal areas in the July 11 order pertained to only municipal areas in Chandigarh and none other.

90,000 Children die in India -Save by Vaccination Drive.

 

India has to go on war-footing to save children under five years from death due to pneumonia and diarrhea, especially children in the backward rural villages.According to the report by John Hopkins Bloomberg School of public health, as many as 90,000 children die every year due to decreases like pneumonia and diarrhea.

Their lives can be saved if India implements its vaccination programme against pneumonia and diarrhea on a war footing.
