 Third International Conference on Advanced Functional Materials (ICAFM 2019) organized by CSIR National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology in association with the Indian Ceramic Society, Kerala Chapter and the Material Research Society of India, Thiruvananthapuram.

Prof. Takeo Yamaguchi of the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, will inaugurate the third ICAFM 2019 at the National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (CSIR-NIIST), Pappanamcode. 

Advanced functional materials continue to attract immense scientific interest by virtue of its potential to provide path-breaking innovations. Exchange of knowledge and information in this field is thus very important for researchers and entrepreneurs to develop new materials and technologies for future applications.

The conference aims to bring together international and national experts from R&D organisations, academic institutions, and industries in the field of materials science and endeavours to facilitate interactions and discussions on the recent trends in material processing, characterisation and application. The programme will feature a keynote address, plenary and invited talks by eminent experts and poster presentations by young researchers.

Additionally, round table and panel discussions will be held to formulate a comprehensive approach for further consolidation of developmental activities. The previous two conferences of the ICAFM series were held at Thiruvananthapuram during 2009 and 2014 and were well received for its technical content and conduct. The conference will be followed by the 83rd annual session of Indian Ceramic Society during 11-12 December 2019.
