5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
IISST, Valiamala, Nedumangadu, Trivandrum, Kerala, India.

Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology’s (IIST) annual inter-collegiate cultural fiesta, Dhanak, is back with a bang. A four-day event, Dhanak has a line-up of events and competitions. For its theme this year, PixelSpaced, Dhanak seeks to encapsulate the spirit and culture of gaming.

Kick start your grey cells by joining in a spell bee, a crossword contest or a quiz on general knowledge. For those who enjoy being under the arc light, there are singing competitions, dance contests, fashion shows... Students with an artistic bend of mind can attend sessions on face painting, cloth bag painting or junk art. Grab the chance and find the actor in you with Mime Craft.

Test how well you know your friend with ‘Dostana’ or spin a yarn for them in Psych. Gaming enthusiasts can participate in Tom Clancy’s online tactical video game R6 Siege or test their racing skills in NFS, a racing video game. Showcase your talent in a battle for the title of Mr or Ms Dhanak. There are workshops on neural network and 3D animation to upgrade your skills.

Artist Bose Krishnamachari is the chief guest for this year’s event.

If Dhanak 2015 witnessed a performance by DJ VH1 Supersonic, Progressive Brothers from DJ Sunburn in 2016 and Masala Coffee in 2017, Niranj Suresh of NRJ Project will be taking centre stage on September 28
