Chembai Memorial Trust’s 10-day festival begins on 21st August, 2019.

The annual music fete organised by Chembai Memorial Trust is from August 21 to August 30. The Chembai Memorial Trust observes the silver jubilee of the Chembai trust, and the 123rd birth anniversary of the late Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar, this year.

The festival begins with a concert by Chennai-based Carnatic artiste S Mahati on August 21. Tune in to a flute duet by Heramba and Hemantha on August 22. Attend a performance by Moozhikulam Harikrishnan, winner of the Chembai Puruskaram award 2019, on August 23. Amrutha Murali takes centre stage on August 24. Listen to the soothing strains of the violin by Lalgudi GJR Krishnan on August 25. This will be followed by a vocal concert by Cherthala KN Renganatha Sarma on August 26.

Bhajans and namsankeerthanam fill the air on August 27 (Ekadasi). Sandeep Narayanan’s recital is on August 28 while B Arundathi will showcase her vocal prowess on August 29. The fete concludes on August 30 with a performance by Vishnudev Nampoothiri.
