  In a sensational development sprint legend  Usain Bolt lost one of his nine Olympic gold medals Wednesday when the International Olympic Committee stripped Jamaica of their 4x100m relay win at the 2008 Beijing Games after a teammate was caught doping. The decision which follows the re-testing of hundreds of samples from the Beijing Games, means that Bolt loses one of the three gold medals he won at that Olympics.
One of the all time batting greats and former Indian cricket captain Rahul Dravid declined to accept an honorary doctorate degree conferred on him by the Bangalore University, saying that he would like to accomplish research in the field of sports and then earn the degree. One of Karnataka and Bengaluru's favourite sons, Dravid went on to represent India in 164 Test matches and scored 13,288 runs, the second most by an Indian in cricket's oldest format after Sachin Tendulkar.
Keralite pace bowler S Sreesanth’s plans to come back to competitive cricket were quelled on Tuesday as the BCCI denied the Indian fast bowler the NOC (No Objection Certificate) required to play league cricket in Scotland. Sreesanth had been trying to play league cricket in Scotland this year but the BCCI, which had imposed a life ban on him following his alleged involvement in the IPL spot-fixing scandal in 2013, has refused to give him the necessary permission. According to a report, a BCCI official confirmed that they had not obliged his request.

Legendary all rounder Kapil Dev who led India to the 1983 World Cup has opined that limited overs skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has a lot of experience and should continue to lead the side as long as he is good enough for the job. Star all rounder Ravindra Jadeja is currently on Indian duty in the final Test against England. However there is a rattling news for him from his hometown Rajkot. The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) decided to clamp down on all illegal constructions in the city. In a move by the civic body, all such constructions were demolished on Thursday.Jadeja owns a restaurant in the town named Jaddu’s Food Field. Unfortunately, a part of his food joint was also found to be in the zone of illegal construction. The civic body had to raze a part of his food joint.
