E.Chandrashekaran Nair,C.P.I's tall-leader passes away

E.Chandrashekaran Nair, C.P.I's tall-leader known as "Gentleman to the core" passed away today at 12-30 p.m today 29th November 2017 at Thiruvananthapuram.He was 89 years old.He was elected to the Kerala assembly six times, for the first time in 1957. "Maveli Stores"  a concept to provide groceries at fair prices to the public, which is still a big relief to lakhs of people in the state. As a  Minister for Food and civil supplies, he was known as Maveli Minister who successfully implemented the Public distribution system through Maveli stores was adopted by many states in the country.

Last rites shall be conducted on Friday, the 1st December 2017 in the afternoon. His son who is working in California, USA is expected to arrive soon.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condoled the death of E.Chandrashekaran Nair. Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, state secretary CPI(M), Ramesh chennitala, Congress leader and leader of the opposition, Sudheeran, another Congress leader condoled the death of E.Chandrashekaran nair.
