CNG models of Tata Tiago and Tigor will hit the market on January 19; I know the details

Tata Motors today announced the launch of CNG variants of the Tiago and Tigor models in India.
Bookings for both the vehicles have already started at Tata Motors dealerships. The CNG versions of the Tiago hatchback and Tigor compact sedan will hit the market on the 19th of this month. Currently, only Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai vehicles are available in the CNG passenger vehicle segment.

The CNG-powered Tiago and Tigor are unlikely to have any changes in design compared to the standard model running on a petrol engine.

The XZ variant of the Tiago CNG is expected to feature projector headlamps, fog lamps, rearview camera and rear wiper. Inside, it will feature a petrol-powered touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control and a digital instrument cluster.

The Tiago and Tigor are powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine that currently produces 84.8 hp and 113 Nm of torque. The same engine will be used for the CNG versions.

While the petrol-powered Tiago and Tigor models will have manual and automatic gearboxes, the CNG versions will only be available in manual gearboxes.

CNG variants come with a 5-speed manual transmission while petrol cars come with an automatic transmission option. Tata Motors is expected to charge a premium of Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 more than the petrol version of the car. However, the price has not been confirmed yet.

Competitors for the Diego CNG will be Hyundai Santro CNG and Maruti Suzuki WagonR S-CNG. Tigol CNG, on the other hand, will compete with its only rival, the Hyundai Ora CNG. It is also rumored that Maruti Suzuki will launch a CNG version of the Swift, Dzire and the new Celerio.

Meanwhile, in the New Year, Tata Motors has introduced huge discount offers for its selected models.

Tata Motors' new offer includes cash discounts, exchange bonuses and corporate discounts. Tata Motors' Tigor and Tiago are now available in the market for corporate discounts of up to Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively. In addition to these two there are other discount bonuses and cash discounts available.
