Kerala Tourism’s signature assets were showcased before leading stakeholders of the travel and tourism industry in four major cities of the United States of America. The U.S.
The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways will organise a Motor Rally to commemorate 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. The rally will travel through places historically associated with Gandhiji, both in India, as well as in Bangladesh and Myanmar. It will connect the places of significance in Gandhiji’s life, and simultaneously take up advocacy on Road Safety concerns. This is part of the yearlong celebrations to commemorate the 150th year of Mahatma Gandhi in India and across the globe, initiated by the Government of India on 2nd October last year.
The Ministry of Tourism has formulated the guidelines for approval of Online Travel Aggregators (OTA’s). These guidelines have been devised to ensure that there are adequate safeguards against deficiency of service, alternate arrangements if needed and punitive deterrence.  This is a voluntary scheme open to bonafide online travel aggregators to bring them on a common platform in the organized sector and the guidelines will be rolled out online by the end of December 2018.
The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Bulgaria for strengthening cooperation in the field of Tourism.

Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Shipping, Road Transport & Highways, Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation chaired an interactive session of various stakeholders of the travel and tourism trade in Mumbai last week, to formulate an action plan for realizing the full potential of Cruise Tourism in the country.
Come July 10th,2018 the Thiruvananthapuram airport will be open to "night- domestic -flights", as at present there are "daytime " domestic flights playing within the country. The AAI - Airport Authority of India has reworked the domestic flight schedule connecting even New Delhi - in the night and other cities in India from the domestic terminal here. This would help all those who wish to save the day in travel.
Indian Government has suggested a project of Rs 1.82 crores to protect the 80 feet high red laterite cliff bordering 2.5-meter wide pathway along the 6.1-kilometre cliff facing Varkala beach near, Thiruvananthapuram. According to the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Varkala is the only one in the west -coast of India where the sediments are of age between 13 lakh to 2.5 crore years which is exposed to nature, has all the potency to find a spot in the map of geo-heritage sites.
'Zermatt'- a town in the mountains of Switzerland is on the world map for having the longest pedestrian bridge in the world. "Europabruke" or Europe bridge has 494-meter length, hangs 85 meters above the "Grabengufer ravine".

Kannur Airport, 4th in the state of Kerala which will be launching its commercial operations soon is in for a trouble even before the launch as the civil aviation ministry is restricting it to domestic services. This may be due to retaining the international airport status at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta, Chennai, Bangaluru, Hyderabad, further strengthen facilities upgrades in future.
