Ministry of AYUSH has introduced new Central Sector scheme for promoting pharmacovigilance of Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homoeopathy (ASU&H) Drugs.
The government of India has issued guidelines/ standards with an objective to introduce a uniform standards-based system for creation of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) by the Healthcare providers by formulation EHR Standards 2016. This uniform standard helps ensure the interoperability within the different system.
World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year from 1 to 7 August to encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of babies around the world. It commemorates the Innocenti Declaration signed in August 1990 by government policymakers, WHO(World Health Organization), UNICEF( United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund) and other organizations to protect, promote and support breastfeeding.

'Nipah'- virus outbreak in Kerala, which remained a mystery so far has been unwound after the confirmation that the virus was found in the fruit which bats had eaten in Kozhikode district, which was the epicenter of the outbreak, by the National Institute of Virology, Pune, Maharashtra.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has confirmed that fruit bats were the primary source of the Nipah outbreak in Kozhikode and Malappuram Districts, where 17 people died due to the virus earlier this year. Initially, a Central medical team had ruled out bats as the primary source of the infection after samples collected from bats in two Kerala districts tested negative.
