Badam Milk

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Almond/Badam (100 grams)
  • 1/2 cup Sugar (150 grams)
  • 1/2 liter Milk (500 ml)
  • 1 pinch Saffron strings
  • 1/2 cup Milk for saffron milk and grinding
  • 10 Pistachios (crushed) (optional)
  • 5 Almonds (crushed)

Instructions

  1. Soak 1 pinch of saffron in 1/4 cup of milk.

  2. Boil water (250 ml approx.,) in a pan, and add 1/2 cup of badam, cook for 2-3 minutes.

  3. Drain almonds with a colander and wash with cold water.

  4. Gently squeeze to remove the skin.

  5. Add 1/4 cup of milk and peeled badam in a mixer jar. Grind it as a coarse paste, and keep it aside.

  6. In a pan add 1/2 liter of milk and boil on a medium flame for 10 minutes.

  7. Then add ground almond paste, combine well.

  8. Once done, add 1/2 cup of sugar, and saffron milk (1 pinch of saffron soaked in 1/4 cup of milk).

  9. Add crushed pistachios and almonds and mix well.

  10. Cook for 2 more minutes.

  11. Serve hot or chilled.
