2G Spectrum-Delhi high court's notice to Raja, Kanimozhi

Central Bureau of Investigation CBI has appealed challenging the acquittal of former telecom minister A Raja and Kanimozhi, MP. Delhi high court has issued fresh notices to both Raja and Kanimozhi in the misappropriation of funds in 2 G Spectrum.

Next hearing is on 25th May 2018 in the High Court, justice S.P.Garg gave 15 days time seeking a reply to the charges filed by the CBI. Special judge OP Saini said that CBI and ED did not provide enough evidence to prove the charges on the accused. Other than Raja and Kanimozhi, 32 persons too included in the list of accused.

The case is that Rs.2 billion as bribe given by Swan Telecom(P) Ltd who are the promoters of DMK-run Kalaignar TV. CBI found the loss to the tune of Rs.309.84 billion to the government in the allocation of licenses for the 2 G spectrum subsequently the allocation was nullified by the Supreme Court.
