Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu have been ranked highest in terms of being on track to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), according to a first-of-its-kind index released by NITI Aayog on Friday. The index comprises a composite score for each State and Union Territory based on their aggregate performance across 13 of the 17 SDGs. The score, ranging between 0 and 100, denotes the average performance of the State/UT towards achieving the 13 SDGs and their respective targets. The average Indian score was 57.
Following the heavy rains and flooding that wreaked havoc in Kerala, scientists at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) have released images which show the state before and after the devastation occurred.
In the image, one can see the heavily impacted areas of Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha as well as the neighboring district of Kottayam as a sea of blue, showing the extent of the flooding.
The first image was taken on February 6 this year, while the second was taken on August 22.
In view of the disruption caused due to severe floods in Kerala, Mahe (Puducherry) and Kodagu (Karnataka), the Competent Authority has extended the due dates for filing of the following GST returns by taxpayers registered in these areas:

Kerala Government has raised the age limit to 23 years from 21 to buy liquor. Today's cabinet took this bold decision, which had LDF's concent earlier.
The government is bringing an ordinance to this effect in the next assembly session. Amendment has to brought in Kerala Abkari Act and Foreign liquor rule to implement the age limit.Selling liquor to persons below 23 years will be a crime, will be punished.
