The PFA made a great idea with the reflectors to prevent stray dogs and animals from being involved in car accidents. People for Animals is an organization that makes reflective collars to protect animals. They attach to the neck of dogs and horns to cattle. The project to be implemented in the whole of Kerala has started in Thrissur.
The main reason for these accidents is not seeing the animals standing on the road or roadside. Reflectors are initially attached to animals in areas near the highway. It is estimated that there are more than a thousand stray dogs in Thrissur district alone. PFA has been around since the lockdown by feeding stray dogs. The collar is now inserted at the time of feeding. They also said they would provide reflective collars if interested volunteers requested.
This is being implemented as part of the PFA's Reflect Life project. Travellers Geetha and her son Sarath Krishnan inaugurated the project. President Dr. Vaishakh Bharathan, Deepak Suresh, Rahul Parameswaran, Nabeel Shah and Gilsa Bharathan were also present.
