Wait-list train passengers can now relax. Railways is planning to introduce another train (clone train) for waiting list passengers on busy routes. This was announced by Railway Board Chairman VK Yadav. The existing trains will be monitored and another train will be added to the same route if required. The special train will run on the same number as the existing train.
Special trains will have fewer stops. The chairman said stops at major stations would be allowed depending on the needs of passengers. Passengers on the waiting list will be notified about the new train four hours prior to the preparation of the reservation chart.
For this, the passenger reservation system will be changed. The current practice is to close the booking when the reservation is completed, such as 400 in sleep class, 300 in third AC (chair car) and 100 in second class.
