Mathrubhumi International Literary Festival, the largest gathering place in Malayalam soil for letters and ideas, will be held from January 30 to February 2 in Thiruvananthapuram. The literary festival is held in eight venues specially prepared at the famous Kanakakkunnu Palace.
The third edition of the Mathrubhumi International Literary Festival is being held in Thiruvananthapuram for four days. As the letters on the paper move to digital and the hectic political era shakes the country, the story, poetry, novel, thought and cinema all reflected in creative dialogue.
The Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters (MBIFL) is an annual literary festival that takes place in the Indian city of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. It was founded in 2018 and is organised by the Mathrubhumi newspaper group. Owing to the good response, the second edition of the festival was extended by a day and it took place from January 31 to February 3, 2019. The third edition of the festival is scheduled to commence on January 30, 2020.
In 2019 it was announced that a "Book of the Year" Literary Award "to honour and celebrate the best in Indian literature", would present for the first time at the 2020 festival, with a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh being given to the best work of fiction published in English.
