The launch of the Honor V40 series smartphones will take place on January 18th. The company has officially confirmed this. The launch of this device was confirmed by the company through Weibo. The official teaser of the device also reveals the front design. Several leak reports related to the device had come out earlier.
From the official teaser of the Honor V40 smartphone, the dual punch-hole cut-out on the left side of the display is provided for the front camera on the phone. The company has also provided a curved display on the device. Unlike current smartphone models, this device comes with a SIM tray at the bottom.
The Honor V40 5G smartphone has a 6.72-inch LED display. This display has 1236 x 2676 pixels full HD + resolution. It has a display that supports 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sample rate. The device will be powered by a Media Tek Dimension 1000+ chipset. Reports suggest that the device will have 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage.
The Honor V40 5G smartphone will run on Android 10 based Magic UI 4.0. The device will reportedly have a 4,000 mAh battery. This is a device with 66W fast charging support. The smartphone is also expected to feature 45W fast wireless charging technology.
The Honor V40 comes with a 50MP primary Sony IMX766 lens or a 64MP camera. In addition to this primary camera, the device also has a quad camera setup consisting of three other cameras. Other sensors on the device are reported to be an 8MP super wide angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro lens.
The device is said to have a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The Honor V40 5G is said to be 163.32 x 74.08 x 7.85 mm and weighs 184 grams. The smartphone will also have an in-display fingerprint scanner. Along with the Honor V40, the company will also launch products such as laptops, smart watches, TVs and toothbrushes.
