KR Sachidanandan, 49, a writer and screenwriter, passed away here today. He died at the Thrissur Jubilee Mission Hospital. His condition was critical following a heart attack following a hip replacement surgery at a private hospital in Vadakkancherry. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.
He has scripted and directed two films. Anarkali, released in 2015, starred Prithviraj. Ayyappan and Koshy are set for a Prithvi-Biju Menon combo that became one of the blockbusters of 2020.
Sachi was born in Kodungallur in Thrissur district. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and a law degree from Ernakulam Law College and practiced for eight years in the Kerala High Court.
Sachi-Sethu were the hit combo of Malayalam cinema scriptwriting. The duo has started scripting the super hit movie "Chocolate" which starred Prithviraj. With the success of Chocolate, Sachi-Setu combo became part of many hit films. Robinhood, Make-up Man and Seniors were a huge success. The pair parted ways with the 2011 film "Doubles".
He later became an independent screenwriter in Run Baby Run, Chettayees, Sherlock Toms and Ramleela.
