Central Cabinet is to bring a farmore stringent law against the economic offenders fleeing the country without repaying the huge loans taken by them.

This bill is conceived after Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi, their companies cheated Rs.12,622 crores, fleeing the country without repayment of the loan made the government wake up.

Fix operational gaps in 15 days - Central Government advises State Banks

 Union Finance Ministry on Tuesday advised the state banks to take preventive measures against the operational and technical risks within 15-days, against operational and technical risks, following a Rs.20,000 crores fraud at the second-biggest state lender of the country Panjab National Bank.

Rajeev Kumar, the secretary in the department of financial services, said in a tweet that state banks have 15 days to “take preventive measures, create checks and balances and pinpoint weak gaps to escape, deal with increasing operational and technical lacunas.

 

 

 

Gold Deposits in Rajastan - 11.80 million tonnes

The land of sand-Rajasthan has gold deposits around 11.80 crore tonnes for exploration in Banswara and Udaipur said Kutamba Rao, the Director General of Geological Survey of India.

He added that deposits of copper and gold are found just 300 feet below the earth from the earth, exploration is on in areas like Neem Ka Thana in Sikar District, while 80 million tonnes of copper has already been recovered in Rajasthan so far.

Scientists have found after survey, 350 million tonnes of lead and zinc deposits too are found in these places, makes exploration worthwhile. 

600 Buses are Off the roads- sky rocketing fuel price

The fuel hike has been in the news for long, 600 private buses in Mallapuram District, in Northern Kerala, have stopped plying, the reason being none other than the steep hike in fuel prices.

Operating costs are consistently increasing day by day, Diesel for the buses costing more from Rs.55 to Rs.70 in the past 24 months has become a burden to the owners.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 index skidded 7.1 percent to 21,087.71 by early Tuesday afternoon but was trading down 6.6 percent a bit later. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index lost 5.0 percent to 30,628.22 and Australia’s benchmark S&P ASX 200 slid 3.4 percent to 5,820.20. South Korea’s Kospi declined 2.4 percent to 2,431.88 and the Shanghai Composite index was off 2.2 percent at 3,412.55.

GSTR-3B filings are increasing, says GSTN

About 43.67 lakh taxpayers have filed their October GSTR-3B returns, which is the highest number so far, according to the Goods and Services Tax Network, which said the number of returns being filed was increasing every month.The GSTR-3B filings for August and September stood at 28.46 lakh and 39.33 lakh, respectively.“The number of taxpayers filing their GSTR 3B returns is showing marked improvement month after month with about 43.67 lakh of them filing their GSTR-3B returns for October till November 20, 2017, the highest so far,” the GSTN said in a release.

Around 200 governmet websites make Aadhar details public

The Unique Identification Authority of India stated that 200 websites run by Central and State government displayed details such as the names and addresses of some Aadhaar beneficiaries.In response to a Right to Information inquiry, UIDAI noticed that there has been a breach, those data have been removed from those websites.However, they did not specify when the breach took place or did UIDAI make those details public.

No need to link bank account with PAN or Adhar for NRIs

Unique Identification Authority of India(UIDAI) has notified that there is no need to link bank accounts of Non-resident-Indians NRIs, Person of Indian Origin PIOs and Overseas Citizens of India OCIs with Permanent Account Number PAN or Adhar, henceforth.

UIDAI has advised various agencies involved in implementing this work to find out a mechanism to verify the status of those individuals.

Under the prevention of Money Laundering Rules 2017 and the income tax, it has specified those persons who are eligible to enroll for Adhar.
