Roopa Revathi

Roopa Revathi (Malayalam: രൂപ രേവതി), also known as Roopa K.R., is an Indian playback singer[1] and Violinist from Kerala. She started her career as a playback singer in the Malayalam movie Madampi in 2008. She has also recorded songs for Tamil and Kannada films. She was the winner of the reality show Amrita TV Super Star Global, a musical talent hunt show hosted by Amrita TV

Roopa was born to a mid-class Brahmin family from Ernakulam, Kerala on 31 July 1984.She started learning Carnatic music at the age of 5 under Dr. Malini Hariharan and Tamarakkadu Govindan Namboothiri. Now, she is continuing it under Sri P Unni Krishnan and Sri M. Jayachandran. She also started learning violin when she was 7, under Sri T.H.Subrahmaniyam and has now started taking advanced lessons from Sri. Kalaimamani Embar Kannan.

Roopa debuted as a playback singer in 2008 with the song "Ente Sharike" in B. Unnikrishnan's Malayalam film Madampi under music director M. Jayachandran
